In this article we are going to take a close look at the eBay Sellers that are not only selling Nu Skin products illegally but also selling Nu Skin skin care and dietary supplements that are out of date. Originally this information came to me from a Blue Diamond Executive of NuSkin Enterprises as she was shocked to learn how dishonest people are and the lengths they will go to make money online.
First of all it is against the Policies and Procedures for any distributor to sell Nu Skin products on third party sites. Taken directly from Nu Skin’ website:
“Please take a moment and make yourself aware of our Policies and Procedures, particularly regarding online product sales and third party auction sites, such as eBay.”
“Selling company products through a non-Company website, including eBay, is a violation of Section 20.I of our Policies and Procedures.”
“We recommend that Distributors inform customers that Nu Skin products purchased on eBay carry no guarantees, they cannot be returned (to Nu Skin) for a refund, and they also carry no warranties regarding performance, etc.”
Doing a search on eBay though you will find 1,800+ auctions for Nu Skin products such as Nu Skin AgeLoc Facial Gels, Galvanic Spa Facial Gels with ageLOC and Nu Skin Galvanic Facial Spa. From the limited research I conducted on some of these auctions the amount of money that Nu Skin and it’s distributors are losing is in excess of $500,000 in the last 6 months. There are some eBay sellers I seen that have sold over 1,000 Nu Skin products at an average price of $189.00 – others I have seen sold 500+ of the same item and even 700+ of the same item.
This means these are power sellers on eBay and not just normal everyday list a few items for sale sellers. The problem here is not just money though because the products they are selling are also out of date from what I hear from my sources. I guess some distributors obtained these products for free after they expired but was specifically told they are not to sell the Nu Skin products.
This poses another serious problem because some people could be seriously harmed by these eBay sellers selling Nu Skin product that is out of date. While I am not some health and beauty expert I am sure that there is a possibility of harm coming to those using out of date products. According to Skin Care News they state it could harm your skin:
Nothing lasts forever, especially when it comes to cosmetics and skincare. Although you may hate to say goodbye to a favorite cleanser, cream or concealer – especially if the product was pricey – using a product after it’s expired can actually harm your skin. Unfortunately, knowing when to pitch products isn’t always so straightforward. Oftentimes, your beauty and skincare products don’t have an expiration date or when there is one, it’s simply a suggested use-by date. But the actual shelf life can depend on when products are opened and how they’re stored.
