We have all seen self proclaimed experts in all industries and this is especially true in the Marketing Arena with self proclaimed SEO experts on many marketing forums. These morons give out so much bad advice that it’s sick. They care nothing about ruining others businesses or lives and the MODS do nothing to stop it. If you post proven advice many times your post gets edited or even deleted although it could help someone (some marketing forums like MarketersDominaton.net does not allow self proclaimed experts to give out bad advice). 95% of the people on these marketing forums don’t even read the threads – they just blatantly reply with their bad advice.

There is so much misinformation in this industry that many never build a business and some that do build a business actually profit off all the misinformation by selling SEO services to honest businesses. These honest businesses usually suffer big time and most of the time they end up not doing business with any real SEO expert that could help their business be more successful. Some of the MODS on these marketing forums also sell SEO services so keeping the real truth and real advice out of these forums help those MODS scam people out of money.

This post is not SEO’d unless you want to say self proclaimed SEO Experts is a keyword. This post is full of real marketing advice from a 20+ year SEO Expert that does outrank billion dollar companies for their own keywords and does own several real companies. You can listen to the advice in this post or not – either way does not matter to me because at the end of the day my business will still go on making money and outranking others. If you choose to listen to real advice then you might actually start making money online and building your business.

5 Myths (which is basically lies) that these self proclaimed SEO Experts pass along are as follows:

Myth: Domain Age is an important ranking factor.

Truth: Domain age has nothing to do with ranking a website and no it does not mean a site is trustworthy as many claim. You can outrank a 10 year old domain with proper on-site SEO and quality content. What does help in rankings is how long the website or blog pages have been indexed by the search engines. Domain age and age of pages being indexed are 2 totally different things.

Myth: PA and DA are important for proper SEO and rankings in search engines.

Truth: PA (page authority) and DA (domain authority) have 100% nothing to do with search engine rankings. These are fake made up numbers by MOZ’s system that have no effect on any search engine rankings. These metrics come from MOZ and their system to fool you into thinking they are part of SEO because MOZ wants to sell you useless SEO tools that have nothing to do with rankings. Google does not use any outside metrics for their rankings.

Myth: Quality backlinks get top rankings in search engines.

Truth: About 6 or 7 years ago many Self Proclaimed SEO Experts spammed up the web with 1,000s of bookmarking sites and took over rankings. Google fought back and changed things. These so called experts got angry with it and called Google evil because they could no longer rip people off with their SEO service. Now they just changed tactics but still do the same thing. These SEO experts now say a quality backlink is getting a link from a website that has high DA (domain authority) – which is a MOZ metric and not a Google metric. The truth is backlinks do not get top rankings but “Natural Links” do help get top rankings along with quality content and proper on-site SEO. Natural links are links that are built by others sharing your content.

Myth: Commenting or Posting information on non-related blogs and websites will hurt your rankings.

Truth: Nothing could be further from the truth. To begin with you have no business running around locating blogs to spam with your lame comments just to get a backlink. You should only participate on sites that interest you and then you should become a contributing member that brings value to the community. It does not matter if the site is related to your business / website or not. Fact is natural backlinks get top rankings and you can’t control natural backlinks. Those that share your content just may share it in a totally different niche. Google knows this and the fact is Google can tell what links are natural and what links are self built (spam) more than you think they can.

Myth: Only post on do-follow sites because no follow brings no link juice.

Truth: The fact is there is no such thing as do-follow links and never was. Some seem to think because a no-follow attribute exist then a do follow one must exist – Wrong! There is no do-follow and never will be. A link is a link – period! All links pass link juice and all links are followed. How much link juice is passed NOBODY BUT GOOGLE KNOWS! The attribute no-follow was created to mark paid for advertising links.

These are just a few of the lies these Self Proclaimed SEO Experts In Marketing Forums tell you, there are many more trust me. Before you go following these lame SEOers that can’t rank a website or build a business – do your research and know who you are listening to or hiring to help you with SEO.

Here we are again with another internet marketing myth spread around by some so called experts. Normally these myths (and there are many) are started because someone misunderstands a blog post by Google or a video that was released.

One thing you also need to keep in mind is that Google is a business just like any other business. They are not going to give you the keys to the kingdom and at times what they do release may be misunderstood.

Footer links bad for SEO purposes for instance. Many run around posting on forums and blogs on how bad footer links are or how their own site suffered due to footer links. Not only are these people misinformed but they spread myths because they “think” their site was smacked due to footer links.

The fact is these people have no idea why their sites was smacked. They just assume it was footer links because some so called experts claim footer links are bad for SEO. Footer links have nothing to do with any site being hurt by search engines or rankings.

If this was true then many sites would be smacked by search engines. For that matter you could even do some major damage to your competition. Just run around slapping footer links on all your own sites to hurt your competition. How stupid does that sound ?

What many misunderstand is the fact of far too many promotional links and ads on a site will hurt your rankings. If you have nothing but a link farm then obviously your rankings will suffer. Link farms provide no quality content at all for search users.

A copyright link or even navigational links in your footer is not going to hurt your SEO one single bit. The search engines understand and know the difference between promotional links and copyright links. There is no search engine that is going to penalize your site for adding a copyright to it.

Before you run around trusting every so called expert on things, why not test things out for yourself and obtain your own results. If you still believe what others say then all I have to say is good luck with your business because your competition thanks you for listening to so called experts.

I for one will keep my footer links and copyright links!

I have been online for well over 20 years and still till this day I am amazed at the amount of b.s. that goes around the internet marketing world. What is even more amazing though is how many people actually believe bogus claims. I am not making this post to change your mind or to tell you that you are wrong when you think domain age is a ranking factor.

Actually you can believe what you wish, after all it is your business. If you make money or not with your business does not hurt me one single bit. It only hurts you when you do not take the time to test things for yourself or listen to someone that has already tested and proven something.

The reason why these so called SEO experts spread these myths such as domain age is a ranking factor is because they normally have something to sell you. This may be junky software or the next greatest wordpress SEO plugin or even an ebook.

On the other hand, I have nothing to sell you and I am not pushing anything on you. The fact is domain age has nothing to do with rankings of your website. If it did then all someone would need to do is buy up a large block of aged domain names and dominate any niche.

Seriously use your head and think for yourself when dealing with these so called experts. While the age of a domain name has nothing to do with rankings, the length of time a domain is “INDEXED” in Google does have some weight on rankings. The exact weight it has nobody knows but Google, just having a domain indexed for a long period of time is not going to get you the rankings though.

You must have many of the other factors along with the indexed time. Factors such as quality content, proper on-page SEO, proper off-page SEO, social validation, and etc.
